CDM Coordination
Anyone having construction or building work carried out has legal duties under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007, and may require the appointment of a CDM Coordinator.
If a construction project will last longer than 30 days or involve more than 500 person days of work, the client will be required to appoint a CDM Coordinator.
At Jonathan Durndell, we can provide CDM Coordination to advise and assist our clients meet their CDM duties on notifiable projects. These include:
■ Advise about selecting competent designs and contractors;
■ Help identify what information will be needed by designers and contractors;
■ Coordinate the arrangements for health and safety during the planning phase;
■ Ensure the HSE is notified of the project;
■ Review the initial construction phase plan is suitable; and
■ Prepare a health and safety file containing useful information to enable future cleaning, maintenance and alterations to be carried out safely.
The CDM Coordinator should be appointed as soon as possible, but no later than the initial design stage. Please note that CDM 2007 does not require the CDM Coordinator to supervise or monitor work on site.
